Isabelle O'Connell

Choosing the right educational pathway is one of the most consequential decisions a family makes. I started Apollo Tutors to give families — in the UK and overseas — a guide who has genuinely sat on both sides of the desk: as a classroom teacher, and as the specialist preparing children for the exams that decide where they go next.

I hold Qualified Teacher Status and spent seven years teaching in UK primary classrooms before founding Apollo Tutors, where I've spent a further seven years specialising in 10+ and 11+ preparation, KS2 SATs, and independent school admissions — for families based in Britain and internationally.

Philosophy

Building confident, capable learners

Successful preparation isn't simply about completing practice papers. The strongest outcomes come from developing these four things together.

Strong Foundations

Building secure knowledge and skills in English and Mathematics.

Confidence

Helping children approach unfamiliar challenges positively.

Independence

Developing problem-solving skills and encouraging children to think for themselves.

Curiosity

Encouraging children to become enthusiastic, engaged learners.

"I believe preparation should be carefully paced, personalised and enjoyable — allowing children to develop at the right stage of their educational journey."
